Garden of the Gods, CO, 2016
My boyfriend, Lawrence, and I have been consumed with wanderlust.
Traveling is so special because it’s a hobby that we’ve gained together as a couple. Before we started dating we were both and still kind of are homebodies (unless we’re traveling of course!). We haven’t been to too many places together yet, but our short and close to home adventures have been amazing! We’re definitely planning to go to more places in the future! Our first trip was to Denver, Colorado.
Denver is north from home, very green (in many ways), the people were friendly, and man oh man was the food tasty! We didn’t have much planned for this trip because we wanted to have the freedom to explore and discover things to do while we were there.
We spent the first day eating the most delicious pizza at Denver Deep Dish… drool!
And pretzels….
We explored dispensaries, even though I do not partake in those kind of activities because why not? It’s just a big part of Denver now and it was neat to see how they do it all.
We went to Elitch Gardens because that was a must! It was so much fun! Who doesn’t love getting their bodies jerked around by huge machines at a good amusement park? That’s right, no one because it’s a blast!
A trip is never complete without shopping. So we walked through 16th Street Mall, and oh my goodness it was a long walk. So long that I thought it was never going to end, which unfortunately made me have an anxiety attack. No worries though! It passed and all was good.
My favorite part definitely had to be Steuben’s. Food is always my favorite! The food was so delicious. The Steuby Snacks tasted like chicharrónes (fried pork belly) sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with some sort of mustard sauce. Try it if you’re ever in Denver! You won’t regret it, I promise.
On the way home we stopped at IKEA for the first time ever and then to the Outlets of Castle Rock and then to Garden of the Gods.
I forgot to mention that we stayed at the Quality Inn Central Denver and it was great! Our room had a great view of the city. I was lucky enough to have two good views as you can see from the above photo. Haha!
Denver was wonderful and made for a great trip with my love. I can’t wait to go back!
Picked some good spots, used to live next door to steubens
